Llwybrau Digidol Eileen’s Digital Pathways Verified partner
Llwybrau Digidol Eileen’s Digital Pathways is a community-led digital inclusion and accessible outdoor exploration project based in Pembrokeshire.
Working with Outdooractive, we will create detailed, photo-rich digital routes that help people decide whether a walk is right for them before they leave home. Routes will include practical information about terrain, gradients, path surfaces, gates, steps, seating, obstacles, mobile coverage, facilities and points of interest.
The routes will be tested on the ground by real people, including individuals with mobility difficulties, disabilities, low confidence and limited outdoor experience. Their feedback will help us provide the information that people genuinely need to make their own safe and informed decisions.
The project also brings together digital skills, physical activity, nature connection, local history and community storytelling. Local people will be supported to use digital mapping, navigate safely, share locations, contribute photographs and stories, and become more confident using technology in everyday life.
We believe
Technology should reduce barriers rather than create new ones.
Everyone should have the opportunity to connect with nature, regardless of mobility, confidence, age or digital ability.
Clear photographs and practical descriptions are often more valuable than a simple route grading.
Local history, wildlife and community stories are an important part of experiencing a place.
Safety information should be practical, including location sharing, mobile coverage and relevant local contacts.
Digital inclusion is strongest when people learn through something meaningful, enjoyable and connected to their own community.
The project is not about promising that every path will suit everyone. It is about replacing uncertainty with trustworthy information, widening participation and helping more people experience Pembrokeshire’s landscapes with confidence.
Through training local Digital Champions, volunteers and community route testers, we will build skills that remain within the community. Outdooractive’s mapping, accessibility, media and partner-network tools will help us create a sustainable collection of trusted local routes that can continue to grow beyond the initial funded project.
