Grande Traversée du Massif Central VTT
An unforgettable MTB journey to discover the wild and preserved "highlands".
The Grande Traversée du Massif Central, or GTMC for fans of legendary routes, has been revamped for the great pleasure of both MTB enthusiasts and beginners in touring, as well as the ever-growing number of those trying out electric-assisted mountain biking (E-MTB).
This new version, 1,380 km long, fully waymarked and certified by the French Cycling Federation (FFC), traverses the entire Massif Central from north to south and ranks among the longest MTB crossings in France. Connecting the great lakes of Morvan in Burgundy to the warm sands of the Mediterranean, this route offers a journey that will satisfy both athletes and discovery enthusiasts. It is also fully accessible to E-MTBs.
A grand invitation to explore the landscapes and treasures of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and Occitanie regions. A legendary adventure to experience through twelve departments, four regional natural parks, one national park, and two UNESCO World Heritage sites.
