"Communities in Network - Let's Start with Health"
Health Itineraries
The Health Itineraries project involves the eight municipalities that joined the initiative "Communities in Network - Let's Start with Health": Morozzo, Beinette, Castelletto Stura, Chiusa di Pesio, Margarita, Montanera, Pianfei, Rocca de Baldi.
The project is funded by the Cuneo Savings Bank Foundation.
Among the various actions planned by the project, one involves creating routes to be traveled on foot or by bicycle to promote low-intensity physical activity among the population, to the benefit of health.
For this reason, during May and June 2019, 8 municipal itineraries, each about 10 km long, and 14 intermunicipal itineraries, ranging from 6 km to 18.5 km, were defined, shared, and implemented.
The itineraries all develop in hilly or flat environments, from a minimum altitude of 380 m to a maximum of 680 m above sea level, between the upper plain of Cuneo and the first hilly foothills.
The itineraries were designed by those who know their territory well, and each allows physical activity according to individual abilities, needs, and aspirations.
The total distance of the Health Itineraries network, summing the lengths of all routes, is about 179 km, while the outer perimeter connecting the municipalities of Chiusa di Pesio, Pianfei, Beinette, Margarita, Rocca de’ Baldi, Montanera, and Castelletto is about 84 km.
The total length of the municipal itineraries is 73.4 km, with an average of 9.1 km, a minimum distance of 7.8 km, and a maximum of 10.9 km, while the intermunicipal itineraries reach a total of 123.1 km, with an average of 8.8 km, a minimum of 3.2 km, and a maximum of 18.5 km.
