BAIML

BAIML is the professional membership body in the UK and Ireland for holders of the UIMLA International Mountain Leader (IML) qualification awarded by Mountain Training UK and Ireland (MTUKI). It also welcomes IML diploma holders from other countries who become resident in the UK or Ireland.

BAIML has around 500 members, more than 300 of whom are fully qualified and active UIMLA International Mountain Leaders.

BAIML is a founding member of the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA).

Our purpose is to support aspiring International Mountain Leaders throughout their qualification journey; to promote the value, expertise, and safety leadership that IMLs bring to the trekking industry; to help members maintain the professional standards required by UIMLA; and to represent and advocate for the profession at both national and international levels.

BAIML operates as a not-for-profit organisation.
