The toboggan run over the one-kilometer-long track from the Adler rest area to the ski hut at Geiersberg is done in three waves, and with good snow conditions, even further to Rosenkopfstraße.
Information about the preparation status is available at: https://www.thueringer-wald.com/resources?otg-node-id=587561975251-ojcn

Schneekopf Winter Hiking/Sledding Tour

Follow the winter hiking trail No.3 from Güldener Brücke - Schmücke - Schneekopf - Güldene Brücke. Ideal winter walk with sledding descent (recommended with children). The route from Schneekopf to Brand parking lot is very suitable for sledding due to the slope - but caution: the path is primarily a cross-country ski trail, a difficult and narrow descent - please give way to skiers. For safety reasons, I would not let children sled alone

Sledding slope at Crux

The former ski slope with (I suspect dismantled) lift at Crux is ideal for sledding. The slope is groomed with a snowcat and is therefore also suitable for wooden sleds. Information about the condition and grooming can be found frequently at: thueringer-wald.com/urlaub-wandern-winter/suhl-vesser-winter.html. The lower part of the slope is very rough; when sledding with small children, I recommend keeping left under the old ski lift hut to avoid ground waves (as indicated in the track).

300m toboggan run through the forest with additional alternatively marked runs indicated as branches (All tracks shown here are paths with enough gradient for sledding). The toboggan run is highly recommended in bad weather, as you are somewhat protected from wind and snowfall in the forest.
