Slopes for all levels
For beginners we recommend starting on an easy Tenavarinne trail. Experienced sportsmen can choose Olympiakatti, SuperPipe and Freestyle park slope that correspond to all international competition standards.
Two Vuokatti Rental Offices are situated on the West North slopes, at lower stations. In the same buildings you can find equipment maintenance services and SportShop with all necessary clothes and equipment of best sport brands are in sale.
Experienced professional instructors from Vuokatti Ski School will guide the beginners through their first moves on the slope and share their tips for improving the technique with frequent guests of ski resorts. Vuokatti Ski School also specializes on providing trainings for disabled people.
À la Katti and Pirtti restaurants, Hesburger and Ripa’s Kuppila are at you service to make sure you don’t get hungry or tired on the slopes.

The Vuokatti slopes has 13 slopes, a full-length halfpipe, a full-length Slopestyle slope and a smaller snowpark.Nordic/Winter hiking
The Vuokatinvaara hill is a great destination for a winter trip. You can go snowshoeing, for example, at the Pikku-Pölly hill. Pöllylampi hut and campfire place serves as a resting place.skiroutes
All-year round tracks
Vuokatti Cross-Country ski track opens annually on 10.10. at 10:00. The track is at first maintained with restored snow. Natural snow falls in November-December, and the season continues until the end of April.
The majority of the routes start at the Vuokatti Sports Institute area. There is around 150 km of ski trails, both for classical and free technique skiing. About 32 km of trail network is illuminated making it possible to ski from early morning hours to 9.30 pm. Connecting ski tracks to different areas and accomodation in the area conveniently start from Vuokatti Sport, which makes it easy to change trails and enjoy the variety of routes in the region.
In the Vuokatti Ski Tunnel the conditions are perfectly suitable for skiing all year round, with the comfortable weather of -7 degrees below 0 C The tracks of the world’s first Ski Tunnel and the outside trail network of 2,4 km provide excellent opportunities for XC skiing and training in all weathers.
Nordic Skiing Paradise
Excellent snow conditions, vast network of trails and possibility to enjoy magnificent views make this place a paradise for skiers. The first track opens already in October and in mid-winter there is more than 150 km of well-groomed tracks. The local shops sell all the skiing equipment you might need.

During the winter season, skiers are served by a free Vuokatti bus
There are buses running between Kajaani and Sotkamo along the mainroad passing by Vuokatti Downhill Ski Resort.
