Alternative winter sports enthusiasts are also sure to find suitable leisure activities around the Stubai Glacier ski area. For example, on the marked and secured winter hiking trails, the two cross-country ski trails at Gamsgarten and Fernau or on the TOP OF TYROL summit platform at 3,210 meters.

The Stubai Glacier is one of the best freeride areas in Austria thanks to its guaranteed snow, variety of variants and numerous freeride options. In addition to the ski routes, the "Powder Department" offers a comprehensive range of safety services. These include freeride checkpoints for avalanche transceivers, an avalanche transceiver training station and GPS-mapped freeride runs with their own freeride map.
