The ski resort of Zuoz with its 30 kilometres of pistes is only 20 km away from the ski resort of St. Moritz. The small community has only a few hotels, but all the more holiday flats. The village is known above all for its well-preserved centre with its magnificent patrician houses - and is therefore even considered one of the most beautiful of the Engadin villages. In addition to 14 easy kilometres of pistes, nine medium-difficulty and seven difficult downhill kilometres await winter sports enthusiasts. But Zuoz also scores points off the slopes: Fine noses will notice the aromatic scent in the village, which comes from the highest coffee roasting plant in Europe. But it is not only coffee-lovers get their money's worth in the small ski resort. The culinary offer is also varied and just right to try one of the many delicacies after a long day on the slopes.

Ski/Snowboard

Directly at the entrance to Zuoz, guests board the child-safe 4-seater chairlift and reach the ski area's local mountain with just one change. At the top station of the 2465 m high Pizzet, you can enjoy the view over the impressive mountain landscape. Skiers and snowboarders can expect a varied range of slopes with easy, but also some challenging runs on Pizzet and Albanas. Little skiers can practise their first steps on skis in the children's practice area and in the ski kindergarten under the expert guidance of the helpful on-site ski instructors. In the Zuoz Snowpark, the little ones will find plenty of variety with a wave run, a boardercross course as well as kickers and rails. If you don't have the right equipment yet, there is a well-equipped ski hire shop on site that will provide winter sports enthusiasts with skis or boards for a day on the slopes.

Nordic/Winter hiking

Every year on the second Sunday in March, the top-class cross-country skiing event takes place: Thousands regularly take on the marathon distance (42 km) between Maloja and S-chanf at the Engadin Skimarathon. In the marathon, it's all about seconds; otherwise, cross-country skiing in the Upper Engadin is all about experiencing nature and the landscape. Around 240 kilometres of trails are available to cross-country skiers here for both classic and skating styles. But many winter hiking trails also invite you on a journey of discovery through the snow. The toboggan run in Zuoz is also popular. The chairlift takes you comfortably up to the Pizzet restaurant with its sun terrace. At the top, it's worth stopping for a bite to eat before the 1500-metre descent into the valley. Sledges can be rented at the valley station.
