Ski/Snowboard

At Corvatsch, 120 varied kilometres of pistes in an impressive landscape await skiers and snowboarders. In one direction, the mighty Bernina massif towers up with the ice giants Piz Bernina and Piz Roseg. In the other direction, you can enjoy the view of many other Alpine peaks and the Engadin lake landscape. The kilometres of pistes are spread over 13 km of blue, 89 km of red and 18 km of black runs. One of the longest illuminated night runs in Switzerland also offers 4.2 km of snow fun at Corvatsch: Every Friday from 7 p.m. until late after midnight, Corvatsch is in the spotlight and invites you to take turns in the snow on the freshly prepared run. Freeriders will find steep gullies, wide deep snow slopes and cliff jumps off-piste. Because of the altitude and the many north-facing slopes, there is even powder there when elsewhere there is nothing but wet snow. Ski tourers will find classics such as Piz San Gian or Il Chapütschin on Corvatsch. The Corvatsch Park is one of the largest fun parks in the Alps and offers fun for professionals and for pleasure freestylers. The park entrance is right next to the Murtèl middle station. The park setup includes various kicker and rail lines in different degrees of difficulty. In the course of the winter, the park will be extended by a flowline and a halfpipe. The park, which is groomed daily, is the venue for various national and international competitions. Between the downhill runs at Corvatsch, ten mountain restaurants invite you to stop for a break and offer here either gourmet feeling or hut magic.

Nordic/Winter hiking

The region also offers a wide range of off-piste activities. A total of around 240 km of cross-country skiing trails in the Upper Engadin invite you to ski in classic or skating style. The routes lead across frozen lakes and into the charming Engadin side valleys. The route around Silvaplana is a section of the legendary Engadin Skimarathon. Various cross-country ski schools in the region help beginners take their first steps on cross-country skis or advanced skiers hone their technique. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can set off on snowshoes along the marked trails above the Engadin lake landscape. On Furtschellas there is a marked snowshoe trail: the Lake Trail, which starts at the Furtschellas middle station at 2312 m and leads to Ustaria Rabgiusa at 2440 m and back again.
