Routes in Wundersleben

Many cyclists rave about the landscape, nature, and tranquility after the tour on the Unstrut cycle path. The family-friendly river cycle path with slight elevation changes accompanies the Unstrut on its almost 200 km course from the source in the Eichsfeld near Kefferhausen to its mouth in the Saale near Naumburg, mostly close to the river. The long-distance cycle route passes through the Thuringian core area, the Kyffhäuser region, and southern Saxony-Anhalt with the Saale-Unstrut wine region.

From the Eichsfeld through the Wartburg-Hainich World Heritage region and the Thuringian Basin to the Saale-Unstrut region and the Nebra Ark, where our ancestors already looked at the sky.

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Bible translation, a pilgrimage walk from the Wartburg to Wittenberg will take place from May 5 to May 19, 2022.

Along the Luther route through the Thuringian Basin to a place that should make history through a simple natural phenomenon.

The Unstrut is a leisurely hiking river suitable for beginners and families. The river is navigable from Straußfurt, and from Artern no more portaging at weirs is necessary, as locks are available. The Unstrut flows into the Saale in Naumburg and forms a pillar of the canoeing area in southern Saxony-Anhalt.

The stage leads from Bad Langensalza via Nägelstedt, Großvargula, Herbsleben, Gebesee, Ringleben, Haßleben, Werningshausen and Schallenburg to Sömmerda.

The Unstrut Cycle Path follows the Unstrut through northern Thuringia and southern Saxony-Anhalt to its confluence with the Saale.

From Artern, you ride on the Unstrut-Werra cycle route to Mühlhausen and from there back to Artern on the Unstrut cycle route.

The predominantly flat circular cycling route takes you from Alperstedter Lake across the vast reed landscapes and the Unstrut valley back to the starting point.  

The paddle tour starts below the B4 bridge near Straußfurt and leads to the Riedtor to Sömmerda. The Unstrut meanders elegantly through an open floodplain landscape here.
