One of the most beautiful krummholz pine moors is located in Zinnwald-Georgenfeld. From the viewing bridge, you have a good view of the moor landscape in the Eastern Ore Mountains.
The Georgenfeld raised bog covers an area of 12 hectares in Saxony. A nature trail leads through the nature reserve, which was designated in 1926. The characteristic plants of the moor grow here, such as the dominant bog pine, cranberry, bog bilberry, round-leaved sundew, scabious and narrow-leaved cotton grass and heather. From the viewing bridge, the view sweeps far across the marshes and the unique landscape. In terms of water management, the Georgenfeld raised bog has been important for mining since time immemorial.
A nature trail with many information boards leads through the raised bog. The Knüppelweg is 1.2 kilometers long.
