PR5 PCV - Livraria do Mondego

The route starts and ends in the center of the village of Penacova, near the inspiring Pérgola Raúl Lino, a magnificent terrace with a panoramic view over the bed of the Mondego. Resume the walk with a visit to the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção and proceed through narrow streets to the descent of the Costa do Sol from the Emídio da Silva viewpoint. Following the left bank of the river, pass the fishing track and quickly reach the Mondego Boardwalks where you can fully contemplate the imposing quartzite block - the Livraria do Mondego. Following the marked trail, cross the river near the Mini-hydroelectric plant which will lead you to ascend one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the region - the Livraria do Mondego. The walk continues along the left bank of the river until reaching the ascent of Costa do Frio, a place where you will decide to take the branch to the Fornos do Casal de Santo Amaro or end the walk in the village center.
