Here at Garnsviken lay a medieval ferry site with runestones. Today, a bridge connects Sigtuna with Märsta.
One of the runestones has the text “Illdori had the stone raised after Siggir, his father. God help his spirit”. Further up there is another stone by the old roadside with the text “Styrbjörn had the stone raised after Sigsten, his father, Holmsten's brother”. Perhaps Siggir and Sigsten were childhood friends of Ingegerd? The timing fits. On the opposite shore there is a corresponding runic inscription on a rock face.
