From the former Barracks to Parolet along the military road (round trip same route)

Hike through the woods and along the panoramic ridge of Palon summit
Short walk leading to the southwest slope of Palon, where the mountain plunges steeply towards Trento, offering a breathtaking panorama. The first part of the trek, which leads up to the pass of dos de la merenda, follows the old Austro-Hungarian military road. Upon reaching the summit, the path begins descending then slightly ascending to reach dosso de la Galina.
Author’s recommendation
Bring binoculars to admire the landscape from afar and quietly discover the animals of Bondone. Along the route you will find some informational panels dedicated to local flora and fauna.

As you can imagine, the passability of routes in a mountain environment is tightly linked to current conditions and depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather. For this reason, the information in this sheet may have changed. Roadbook
From the parking lot just above the former Austro-Hungarian barracks, take the road downhill towards Garniga Terme for about 100 meters, then turn left onto the road through the fields marked "giro delle viote." Ascend zigzag through the countryside until you reach the entrance to the forest. Enter the forest following the sign "pedemontana Parolet" and continue to the summit. The forest road will end, giving way to a path that begins to descend towards dos de la Galina. The view is already very impressive.
Dos de la Merenda is a crossroads intersecting other trails and offers a panoramic viewpoint marked by a distinctive cross, reachable with a detour of about 100 meters (this section is marked with a "dangerous path" sign and is to be traversed only with extreme caution, as the path is protected by metal cables but there are cliffs on both sides). Continuing along the path to the right towards Parolet, in a short time you will reach the SAT hut of Ravina and then the Parolet saddle with its summit.
Once you reach Parolet and have enjoyed the magnificent view of Trento, you need to retrace your steps along the same route.
Public transport
Starting from Trento, it is possible to reach Viote locality by Trentino Trasporti bus, line B202 (Trento - Monte Bondone). From the Viote stop, it is necessary to walk to the former Austro-Hungarian barracks (15 minutes on foot).
Directions
Leave Trento taking the SS45bis towards Cadine. Just before the town, immediately after the tunnel, take the road to Sopramonte SP85 and continue ascending the hairpin bends until you reach Viote. Then take the turnoff from the Capanna Viote restaurant towards Garniga Terme. After a few minutes, the barracks will be visible on the right side and the parking lot just above them.
