Lentuanoski rapids is one of Kuhmo's best-known natural sites. It is divided into two parts, the Big (iso) Lentuankoski and the Little (pieni) Lentuankoski, with an midstream pool between them. The lean-to shelter is located along the Lentua rapids path.
The Lentuankoski lean-to serves day hikers and fishermen. Lentuankoski includes Big Lentuankoski and Little Lentuankoski, and the length of the rapids is about 1200 metres.
While admiring the rapids of Lentuankoski, it is a good idea to stop by the fireplace and enjoy a picnic.
If you follow the Kainuun Tar Route water hiking trail and pass the trailhead of Iso Lentuankoski via the boat portage railway, you can stop by at the lean-to at mid-point.
The distance from the parking lot at the Lentua Lake boat landing is about 600 metres that are covered by a well-maintained and marked path. There is also a smaller path from the lodge to the head of the Little Lentua rapid.
There is a lean-to shelter and a wood shed at the campsite.
