Watzmannhaus - ascent from the Wimbach bridge

The Watzmannhaus is the ideal base for an ascent or crossing of the Watzmann. From the hut, you have a magnificent view over the Alpine foothills high above Berchtesgaden.

From the Wimbach bridge parking lot, a short stretch along the road upstream along the Wimbach to the first signposts. The way to the Watzmannhaus is very well signposted.
It goes steeply uphill through the forest right from the start to the Stubenalm and further through light forest to the Mitterkaseralm. From the Mitterkaseralm, the path becomes a bit narrower but remains an easy hiking trail. Over the Falzalm the last climb up to the Watzmannhaus.
