8 Tiefenbach 1 - alder carr and livestock grazing

Passing the path by the campsite, we go straight ahead to trail 61, which we follow uphill until we reach a fork. We leave trail 61 and take the narrow path to the left descending into the forest.

Where the path forks (old gate entrance), we keep left and continue downhill. We initially cross a path and shortly after come to a wider path leading left to the grassland.

Here there is the option to take the longer route (Tiefenbach 2).

For the short route (Tiefenbach 1), we follow the path to the left heading towards the meadow. We stay on this path downhill (trail 61) and finally cross the Tiefenbach in the valley. We reach a wide forest road.

Here the hiking route Tiefenbach 2 rejoins the Tiefenbach 1 route.

We follow the path left (trail 47). At the next opportunity we turn sharply left. We pass an old slate mine whose entrance has been bat-friendly secured. We follow trail 47 back to the car park.
