The tanner's trade, leather industry, fine arts and the town's history are united in a historic building complex from the 18th century.
The Dippoldiswalde Tanners' Museum & Gallery was founded in 1975 and is located in a tannery built around 1750. The listed building complex includes a baroque residence of the tanning family, a three-storey tanner's workshop and an intermediate building.
