Das Informationszentrum im Haus der Berge ermöglicht Ihnen ein Nationalparkerlebnis der besonderen Art. Hier können Sie im Außengelände auf gemütlichen Holzliegen die Seele baumeln lassen und einen fantastischen Blick auf die Berge genießen. Oder Sie schauen sich im Kino im Foyer einen Film über die Berchtesgadener Alpen an. Alternativ können Sie auch die themenbezogene Bibliothek aufsuchen oder die wechselnden Ausstellungen genießen. Es gibt viel zu entdecken und am Ende haben Sie mit Sicherheit einiges Wissenswertes erfahren.

Directions

Vom Berchtesgadener Hauptbahnhof aus folgen Sie der B20 in Richtung Ramsau und biegen bei erster Gelegenheit rechts auf die Straße "Gmundberg" ab. Dieser folgen Sie bis zum Kreisverkehr und nehmen dort die zweite Ausfahrt. Der Parkplatz befindet sich kurz hinter der Ampel auf der rechten Seite.

Gegenüber vom Haupteingang des Haus der Berge befindet sich ein großer kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz.

  • The path from the car park to the entrance is 60 m long. 
  • The bus stop “Haus der Berge” is 90 m away.
  • The building is steplessly accessible.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via ramps or elevators.
  • The ramps in the exhibitions in the Information Centre has a maximum gradient of 6 % and a total length of 5 m -7 m. 
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The cash desk is at its lowest point 85 cm high.  
  • The exhibits are predominately visible when seated.
  • The information on the exhibits is predominately readable when seated. 
  • There are two public restrooms for people with disabilities, both of which are accessible from one side (at least 80 cm). There is a fold-down grab bar on the accessible side of the restroom. 

Educational Centre

  • There are one marked parking spaces for people with disabilities (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm).
  • The path from the car park to the entrance is 10 m long. 
  • The building is steplessly accessible via the side entrance with ramp. 
  • The ramp has a maximum gradient of 5 % and a total length of 3 m. 
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via  a ramp or an elevator.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The exhibits are predominately visible when seated.
  • The information on the exhibits is predominately readable when seated. 
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables available in the restaurant „Spiesbergers Alpenküche“ (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
  • There is a public restroom for people with disabilities that is accessible from both sides (at least 80 cm). There are fold-down grab bars on both the left and right sides of the restroom.

Outdoor area and guided tours 

  • External paths paths in the nature discovery area are at least 150 cm wide, in most cases not easy to walk on and drive on and have a maximum longitudinal gradient of up to 12 %. 
  • There is partial seating available.
  • Guided tours for people with walking impairments and wheelchair users are offered on request. A reservation in advance is not necessary.
  • Mobile or fixed seats are available for people with walking disabilities, which may be used during the guided tour.
  • The entire route of the guided tour is steplessly variable for wheelchair users.
