From the top of the Paljakanvaara observation tower, there is a magnificent view over the landscapes of Kainuu. The observation tower, located in the caches of primeval forest, is located at the top of Paljakanvaara, which is 384 meters high, and at the top of the observation tower is 404 meters high. There are 85 steps when climbing to the top of the observation tower. The scenery is at its most beautiful all year round. A hut and a dry toilet can be found in the parking place of the nature trail leading to the lookout tower.
The observation tower does not have winter maintenance.

The Paljakanvaara observation tower is 0.7 km from the parking area. The observation tower can be reached by walking along the red marked route. In summer time, it is worth connecting the trip with Mustarinda nature trail (2.0 or 3.1 km). In winter, the tower can be reached along the path by road reservation with snowshoes or skis.Parking
