Impressive sandstone formation with picnic facilities.

The Kuhfelsen is a powerful rock formation made of conglomerate sandstone, located at the end of the romantic Clauser Valley at the famous Rodalber Felsenwanderweg, the Kuhfelsentour, and the Haweweg of the Gräfensteiner Land. Under the rock outcrops, shepherds sought shelter and refuge in bad weather in the past. Today, the cozy seating areas available there offer the opportunity to take a break, linger for a while, and simply let the soul unwind.

You can also reach the Kuhfelsen via the two slightly wider valley paths from the hiking parking lot at Hirschbrunnen, which is located on the L497 between Rodalben and Münchweiler/Rodalb.

Der Kuhfelsen liegt am Rodalber Felsenwanderweg, einem schmalen, abenteuerlichen Pfad, der nicht für Gehbehinderte und Rollstuhlfahrer geeignet ist, da es auf ihm immer wieder Stufen und natürliche Hindernisse wie Steine, Wurzeln oder Baumstämme gibt, die es zu überwinden gilt und auf dem streckenweise aufgrund des steil abhängigen Geländes auch Absturzgefahr besteht. Theoretisch kann man ihn allerdings auch über einen etwas breiteren, nicht ausgeschilderten Naturweg durch das Tal erreichen, der jedoch sehr lang ist und Rollstuhlfahrern bei schlechter Witterung Probleme bereiten kann. Bei schönem Wetter, mit leistungsstarkem Antrieb und mit Wanderkarte kann diese Möglichkeit aber durchaus in Betracht gezogen werden.

Der Kuhfelsen liegt am Rodalber Felsenwanderweg, einem schmalen, abenteuerlichen Pfad, auf dem es immer wieder Stufen und natürliche Hindernisse wie Steine, Wurzeln oder Baumstämme gibt, die es zu überwinden gilt und auf dem streckenweise aufgrund des steil abhängigen auch Absturzgefahr besteht. Die Beschilderung erfolgt anhand von einigen wenigen Wegweisern, ansonsten durch Markierungszeichen mit Wegelogos. Die Orientierung im Gelände ist demzufolge nicht immer einfach. Theoretisch kann man ihn auch über einen etwas breiteren, nicht ausgeschilderten Naturweg durch das Tal erreichen. Aus vorgenannten Gründen ist ein Besuch des Felsens für Sehbehinderte und Blinde möglich, jedoch sollte aus Sicherheitsgründen unbedingt immer eine entsprechend geschulte Begleitperson mit dabei sein.

Der Weg zum Felsen ist lang. An einigen Stellen ist er schwierig zu gehen und gefährlich, man kann sogar abstürzen. Auch stehen nicht überall Schilder. Man muss dann dem Logo folgen. Daher nehmen Sie immer eine Begleitperson mit, damit Sie sich nicht weh tun oder verlaufen.
