Kammersteinerhütte (578 m) with Josefswarte from the market square Perchtoldsdorf
Easy enjoyable hike over great paths in the Vienna Woods to the Kammersteinerhütte.
The market town of Perchtoldsdorf (265 m) is located at the southern city border of Vienna and is a popular wine town.
The impressive castle-church complex directly at the market square is worth seeing, and the Gothic parish church also testifies to Perchtoldsdorf's medieval importance.
Extensive hikes start from the historic market square into the Föhrenberge nature park. A well-accessible hiking goal is the Kammersteinerhütte of the Alpine Club section Liesing/Perchtoldsdorf on the Hinterer Föhrenberg (578 m) with the great Josefswarte. There are beautiful views towards Anninger, Kaltenleutgeben, or far into the Vienna Basin before or after the summit snack...

Another nice and easy approach is from the Kuhheide parking lot in Giesshübl to the Kammersteinerhütte.
Roadbook
From the market square, we follow Hyrtlgasse next to the church to Begrischpark and follow the signpost towards the Wiener Wallfahrerweg. After Begrischpark, we follow the Nordalpenweg 01 or Hyrtlalle below the sports center. Shortly before reaching the last houses, we leave the Hyrtlalle and follow the Nordalpenweg until just before the barrier. There we turn right towards Parapluieberg. Continuing through the Saugraben, after about 800 m we meet the Wiener Wallfahrerweg again and follow it to the Kammersteinerhütte.
Return: immediately after the hut, we descend following the long-distance trail 01 or the long-distance path 06 back to Perchtoldsdorf.
After a short somewhat steep descent, we keep left and pass the Froschkönig. Now we follow the hiking trail back to the barrier and continue to the market square.
