The Japanese tea house Kanshoan is embedded in an English garden and organizes traditional tea ceremonies.

Beautifully embedded in the English garden, surrounded by countless plants and water and almost directly opposite the Haus der Kunst is the Japanese Tea House Kanshoan. An association of the Urasenke Tea School in Kyoto organizes traditional Japanese tea ceremonies here from April to October and accompanies you on a short trip to the other side of the world.

The tea school was built in 1972 on the occasion of the Olympic Games and since then it has delighted interested people from all over the world.

For those who are not interested in the tea ceremony, there is still something for the eye. The traditional architecture surrounded by the captivating beauty of the water and the English garden itself are another highlight of the tour.

Directions

Leave the Mittlerer Ring via Berg-am-Laim-Straße, then continue on Grillparzerstraße

Turn left onto Prinzregentenplatz, then continue on Prinzregentenstraße until you reach Eisbachbrücke

From there the destination can be reached on foot in about five minutes.
