The last and second shortest stage is coming up. Since your legs are already tired, this will surely be convenient. No major ascents need to be tackled anymore. You cross the Grasmutter nature reserve right at the start before you continue along the escarpment via forest and meadow paths. The last kilometers of the Albsteig lead continuously through the Tuttlingen city forest towards Tuttlingen. In Tuttlingen, you can relax in Donaupark or in the TuWass thermal bath. Those who still feel like a last detour can also visit the Honberg ruins, which lie on a small hill in the middle of the town. Then it's done! 358 kilometers you won't forget so quickly. You have earned a reward.

    Author’s recommendation

"For decades, hikers have felt really comfortable during their break in our family inn. Numerous hiking guests on the Albsteig often stay an extra night to add another round on the DonauWellen premium trail Kraftstein-Runde, which starts right at the doorstep here."

    Regina Hermann, Landgasthaus Waldeck Risiberg

    Safety information

This is a moderate mid-mountain hike, with some steep climbs and rather narrow paths. Experienced hikers will therefore enjoy and appreciate it more than beginners in hiking. Experience, stamina, and the appropriate equipment are prerequisites. The Albsteig (HW1) was completely re-signed in 2016 and re-certified as a quality trail in 2020. Additionally, a hiking map and/or a GPS device never hurt.
