This pleasant path offers lots of views of the mountains above the Susa Valley as well as beautiful meadows of flowers and rock gardens. At the end, you reach an area with burnt, dead trees. In 2017, fires spread here from the Susa Valley almost up to Rifugio Ca d'Asti.
Those who want to climb Rocciamellone turn off after about 2/3 of the path and climb up to Rifugio Ca d'Asti. Under good conditions, sporty hikers can also reach Rocciamellone directly from Vulpot via Rifugio Tazzetti.

You follow the road along the lake shore until the GTA turns left at the end and crosses the stream. Then keep left and climb above the lake past the old customs building. You leave the path to Lago Nero on the left and continue climbing to the scenic Colle Croce di Ferro.
Shortly after the pass, you can stay overnight at Rifugio Aurelio Ravetto (https://www.caicvl.eu/index.php/i-rifugi/valle-di-viu/rifugio-aurelio-ravetto).
The path now runs for a while parallel to the contour along the slope. After a short descent, there is a turn-off to the right to Rifugio Ca d’Asti. From Il Trucco, the path first descends, then follows the slope again until after another short descent you reach the houses of Alpe Arcella. Here you take the road and again follow it parallel to the slope. At Alpe Costa Rossa, you pass a partisan memorial.
You stay on the road for a while until, at the beginning of a burnt forest, the path leaves the road and leads a short stretch below the road through the wildfire area to Il Trucco.
