The Museum of Medieval Mining in the Ore Mountains
In its exhibition rooms, the MiBERZ Museum displays archaeological finds that are unique in Europe and provide an insight into the life and work of medieval miners above and below ground. The mining museum is located in Dippoldiswalde Castle, one of the most interesting architectural monuments in the large district town of Dippoldiswalde. Early technologies and equipment used in the mining and processing of silver ore are clearly explained in six architecturally attractive, vaulted rooms. The rare exhibits, which are over 800 years old, are impressive due to their excellent state of preservation.
