However, some sections must be covered on federal roads due to a lack of bike paths!! Caution on these sections (e.g. Treffen-Afritz)

Roadbook
The start and finish of the Carinthia Lakes Loop is at the distinctive red Peace Bridge, which crosses the Drava River east of Villach. Following a bike path northwards, you reach the Ossiacher See after about five kilometers. The Ossiacher See is circled counterclockwise with great views of the water and surrounding mountains. In Ossiach, a short visit to the impressive abbey with its Baroque church from the eleventh century is worthwhile. After the lake circuit, the first longer climb follows. The road winds along the Afritzer Bach for about 15 kilometers up to the Afritzer See and Feldsee. Then it continues through Radenthein to the eastern shore of Millstätter See and further via Dellach to Millstatt.
Route details: follow R2 to Steindorf, then switch to R2A towards Villach again until St. Andrä on the western shore of Ossiacher See. There follow R2 to Annenheim, then take R2B towards Millstätter See in Annenheim.
