Der Weißenstein bietet einen Ausblick auf die Stadt St. Blasien mit ihrem Dom.

Seit 2009 erhebt sich das fast 14 Meter hohe Stahlkreuz auf dem Weißenstein. Ursprünglich stammt es aus der Inszenierung von Puccinis Oper Tosca, die während der Bregenzer Festspiele 2007/2008 aufgeführt wurde.

In der eindrucksvollen Te Deum-Szene wurde das Kreuz hydraulisch aufgerichtet und stieg aus dem Bodensee zwischen der Seebühne und dem Publikum empor.
