Pessegueiro is a village rich in history and rural traditions, with a beautiful river beach that offers visitors peaceful moments. There are several points of interest in the region: Pessegueiro Oil Mill - The Pessegueiro oil mill, once owned by many people from the parish and neighboring villages, was rebuilt in 2003 at the initiative of the Pessegueiro Parish Council. Parish Church - The exact date of construction is unknown, but the fact that the Holy Water Basin is inscribed with the year 1724 allowed Virgílio Correia to date it to the late 17th or early 18th century. The patron saint's image, St. Simon, is made of stone and dates from the 17th century. Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes - This chapel is located between the two Pessegueiros (Lower and Upper). It houses the image of Our Lady of Lourdes. Water Mill - The stream's waters turn the wheel, which still today grinds grain for local inhabitants more attached to tradition. Parish Museum - With a vast and valuable collection, it faithfully portrays the habits and customs of mountain people. The museum is located in the village of Carvoeiro.

Roadbook
The Schist Path of Pessegueiro is a circular route of about 3.6 km that runs along both banks of the Loisa Stream. Before starting the route, you cannot miss admiring the wonderful olive oil mill, fully restored and located next to the stream. The start is at the Pessegueiro River Beach. After crossing the bridge, continue along the right bank of the stream next to old irrigation channels. A little further ahead, we leave the stream and climb an old path through a pine forest area. This path leads to a forest track that descends to an area where we can see the abandoned village of Pisão. We continue on a trail that descends again to the stream and walk alongside some old irrigation channels until the bridge. On the other side of the bridge are the ruins of the village of Pisão. From Pisão, we follow an old trail along the stream that leads back to Pessegueiro. Once in the village, we walk through narrow streets next to schist houses until we find the River Beach again. On the hottest summer days, we can enjoy the excellent conditions that the beach and stream offer us. The Schist Path of Pessegueiro is a small route but with great natural and cultural beauty, leading us along ancient trails once used by local inhabitants.
