GTA - Piamprato to Ronco Canavese
The route leads down the upper valley floor of the Soana Valley to Ronco Canavese. There is little car traffic on the road sections of the route, making hiking on them tolerable.
The route as described here can probably still be optimized (see route description). I am happy to incorporate experience into the text.
The route can be skipped by bus at midday and in the afternoon: 17:35, Sundays 17:10 (see bus timetable).
The GTA hiking guides describe some longer alternatives to this route.

You leave Piamprato on the road and walk to the Madonna della Neve chapel. Shortly after the chapel, a small road branches off to the left, which you follow to Pianetto (1334m). The hiking trail described in the hiking guides was not found despite intensive searching.
At the first houses, you can leave the road and descend directly to the valley road on a path between the houses (marked).
You now follow the road and cross to the northern (right) riverbank. Before the next bridge, there is a signpost to the right. You continue descending along the northern bank on a path, later a mule track, to Salzatetto. The path is sometimes somewhat overgrown. Long pants are an advantage. The path is always easy to find though.
In Salzatetto, you first meet a feeder road and then the valley road again, which you follow downwards. After about 700m, at a house on the left side of the road, the GTA turns left to a bridge. When we wanted to use the path, access to the bridge was blocked (see photo). To this day, it is unclear to us whether the closure applies only to animals or also to people. Behind the bridge, the path is supposed to continue descending near the river. We did not dare to cross the bridge and continued on the road.
Only behind Valprato Soana, at the next river bridge, did we switch to the left bank. The path leads over a pasture at the entrance to the village and then into the forest, always somewhat above the river.
In Scandosio, we descended on the feeder road. We crossed the bridge here and descended the road to Ronco Canavese.
You can probably also take the path marked on OpenStreetMap on the left bank. For this, you ascend again before the bridge and walk past a high-voltage mast over the pasture and continue along the riverbank. We did not take this path but can confirm that there is a bridge in Ronco Canavese leading to the lower end of the village.
Public transport
From Piamprato, GTT bus line 140 http://www.gtt.to.it/cms/risorse/intercomunale/oraripdf/5140.pdf continues via Ronco Canavese to Pont Canavese. Pont Canavese is accessible by train from Turin.Coordinates
