We did the route at the end of June. The meadows impressed with their flowering splendor, but navigation was difficult on a good part of the route due to the tall grass and uncomfortable with shorts, especially in the valley areas. The paths are faintly marked and the signs hide in the grass. Especially the descent across pastures into the Chuisella Valley is partially hard to find.
In clear weather, you can see Mont Viso, 120 km away, from Colle di Pian Spergiurati (Colle di Lavasoza on the IGC map) and let your gaze wander far over the Po Plain.

Roadbook
The path begins on the backside of the stable of Agriturismo Le Capanne and leads up a grassy ridge. Shortly behind the last houses, the path leaves the ridge and leads slightly right up a small river valley (careful, we missed this turn as some tracks continue straight ahead!).
The path then crosses a stream and heads for the first hairpin bend of the road. It continues over pastures to the houses of Alm Funà Inferione. It passes the houses on the right and then goes over pastures up to the nearby houses of Alpe Fumà Superiore. Another steep pasture leads to the next houses (Cavanna nuova).
Here you turn left onto the road (path 831). After the next hairpin, you take the road to the left. Shortly afterwards, you can turn right onto a trail which is prettier, going over the meadows to a stream (about 500 m), compared to the road which stays nearby and is crossed once.
Then you follow the road, which becomes a path, up to the pass.
You follow the path (now path 791) along the slope, descending gently to the locked Rif. Chiaromonte (fountain!). Behind the hut, stay at elevation. Soon a path branches off left down to the valley to Traversella, which you do not take. You stay further along the slope. The path becomes increasingly difficult to recognize. After a valley basin with several streams and a short climb to the Casi Binelli, the path descends steeply along a grassy ridge. Navigation requires great attention here. The path crosses a stream somewhat below the Alpe and continues relatively level up to the grassy ridge. Overall, the path remains on the right (western) side of the ridge.
Shortly before Cappia stands a large cairn on a meadow next to a wildfire-damaged birch grove. Do not descend to the clearly visible sign at the lower end of the slope here. The path turns sharply left into a birch grove. You descend through Cappia. Below Cappia, it goes briefly left, then turns right onto an old mule path leading upward along the slope in a curve to Succinto.
You pass through the village and then continue along the slope on a mule path up to Fondo with its distinctive arched bridge and the posta tappa.
