Lausitzer Schlange - Dresden Heath Variant
The Dresden Heath variant of the long-distance trail Lausitzer Schlange leads the pleasure hiker on a route of about 70 km, starting from the spa town of Rathen through the Dresden Heath to Bühlau. Along the way, numerous attractions and a varied landscape await us.
The Dresden Heath variant of the long-distance trail Lausitzer Schlange starts directly on the Elbe in the idyllic spa town of Rathen. With the chain ferry, you cross to the other riverbank and then on foot, first past the Laasensteine and then between the Great and Little Bärenstein to the town of Wehlen. There we make a worthwhile detour to Wehlen Castle. We hike through the village of Wehlen to Lohmen Castle and continue to the impressive Daubermühle near Mühlsdorf. After visiting the mill, the Lausitzer Schlange leads us over Porschendorf, Elbersdorf, and Klein Elbersdorf up to the Schöne Höhe and then back down via Dittersbach and through the Karswald to Arnsdorf. In this town, we strengthen ourselves again for the upcoming ascent to the Tanneberg. Shortly afterward, we arrive past the Wallroda reservoir in the homonymous town and hike along the Große Röder through the Hüttertal to Klippenstein Castle in Radeberg. We leave the town heading north and reach Kleinwachau via
