ITHAS 2023 - UNESCO World Heritage in Croatia

Croatia is home to an impressive number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites that reflect the country's rich history and culture. From historic cities, natural wonders and archaeological sites to intangible World Heritage sites, there is much to discover.
These stunning sites attract visitors from all over the world every year, offering unique insights into the country's past and natural beauty. The UNESCO World Heritage in Croatia is a precious heritage that needs to be protected and preserved in order to inspire and excite future generations. 
Within the ITHAS (International Tourism & Hospitality Academy at Sea) seminar, students from the Faculty of Tourism in Munich have recorded POIs of tourist value, all with UNESCO World Heritage background. ITHAS is organised by the University of Zagreb and took place for the 15th time in 2023. Within ITHAS, students travel around Croatia on different boats and receive lectures from top-class professors from different countries, according to the theme of the year. Each year, the ITHAS takes place under a different theme - in 2023 it was "Managing World Heritage Sites". Participants of the ITHAS seminar come from different universities, in 2023 from the Brock University from Canada, the University of Maribor from Slovenia and the University of Pécs from Hungary as well as the University of Applied Sciences Munich and the organiser, Zagreb University, took part.
