La Gomera GR-132 Day 2 Santiago - Alajero
Compared to the official route, I changed the walking direction, so you walk from km 128 to km 0. I think it is nicer to walk along the sea first and not to start with a whole day in the mountains.
On the official GR-132 site , this 2nd stage is stage 7. My suggestion was to go the route in the opposite direction to get used to the coastal landscape.

Opposite the tourist information in Playa de Santiago is the overview board for the next stage of the GR-132 on the seafront promenade. From there we walk a few meters west to the river mouth, which we follow to the beginning of the town. There is a school, a bus station, and a little above, the exit of the bypass tunnel of Playa de Santiago.
Attention: We follow the main road about 200m uphill, then our ascent branches off to the right on a paved service road (well signposted). Now comes a long ascent with numerous switchbacks and views of the airport and Playa de Santiago. After 700 meters of elevation gain, the village of Targa is reached, where the path flattens. Via Tejena we reach the day's destination Alajeró. Those who want to look at the further route in the evening can also try to find the local Geocache "Enjoy the little things" in the cactus thicket on the edge of town.

The OSM or outdooractive map of La Gomera should be saved in advance on the smartphone with the Alpenvereinaktiv Pro app to cope with dead spots. The tourist offices on the island provide the Camino la Gomera map for free, where in my edition from January 2018, the GR-131 was shown but not the course of the GR-132.
