Tubaysee, Regenkarspitz, Hochschwung and Schattnerzinken
Hochschwung and Schattnerzinken are widely known as ski tour destinations. They are also worthwhile in summer but visited much less often.
Regenkarspitz and Seitnerzinken hardly ever see a hiker, as the summit book on the latter shows.
The Tubaysee is a pretty little "Tauern lake" right below the Hochschwung, offering wonderful refreshment in high summer. A hike just to the lake and back is also well suited for children.
Author’s recommendation
You can shorten this route at any time by leaving out the Regenkarspitz and/or returning from the Hochschwung to the Tubaysee via the ascent route.
An extension over the Falbalm or the Seitnerzinken is also easily possible.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.

Safety information
This route partly leads through unmarked and pathless, steep grassy terrain. Sense of direction and absolute surefootedness are required.Tips and suggestions
Other lonely circular hikes in the region lead for example over the Bruderkogel or to the Hohenwart and the Breiteckkoppe.Roadbook
From the parking lot, a forest road leads past the property "Koine" and zigzags up to the forest. Shortly afterwards, it passes a hut and becomes a pull path, which leads in further switchbacks up to a stream crossing. Immediately after the next stream crossing, you leave this pull path and follow a marker that leads left up into a grassy hollow and further to a ramp at the edge of the next cirque. Here you turn left, where the Tubaysee lies a little above the end of the path, hidden in a small hollow.
From the lake, you cross pathlessly east through the flat grassy hollow and then diagonally left uphill over a steep meadow slope to an old hunting seat, where you find a marker on the ground. From here you head diagonally to the lowest point on the ridge and then turn right to reach the Regenkarspitz over steep meadow terrain.
From the Regenkarspitz, you descend directly along the ridge and reach trail traces that on the other side of the saddle lead very steeply up to the Hochschwung.
The path from the Hochschwung to the Schattnerzinken follows the marker on the broad ridge westwards.
For the descent, you follow pathlessly but easily a broad ridge directly south from the summit of the Schattnerzinken and reach a hill behind a small notch, where you turn left and descend east to a small Tauern lake in the upper cirque basin. Then you keep left and cross into the lower cirque basin above a wet biotope to reach the bounding ridge at the front of the Tubaysee after a short counter-ascent.
From the lake, you finally follow the ascent route back to the starting point.
