La Torre del Conde ist die älteste noch erhaltene militärische Konstruktion auf der Insel La Gomera. Der Turm wurde im 15. Jahrhundert vom damaligen Regenten La Gomeras errichtet, um die Aufstände der Kanarischen Urbevölkerung unter Kontrolle zu bringen.
Die massiven Mauern waren im 16. und 17. Jhd. häufigen Piratenangriffen ausgesetzt. Der Rundumblick über die Bucht vor San Sebastián ermöglichte jedoch eine gezielte Verteidigung der Stadt. Heute ist im Turm ein Museum untergebracht, in dem Besucher mehr über die kartographische Erfassung der Insel und die Geschichte der Stadt erfahren können.
