From Preiner Gscheid via Heukuppe, Habsburghaus, and Scheibwaldhöhe to Gloggnitzer Hut.
Down through the Kesselgraben into the Höllental and back up through the Weichtalklamm to the Klosterwappen.
From there to the Elisabeth Chapel and down to Puchberg via the cog railway hiking trail.
Note: Gloggnitzer Hut and Kientaler Hut are not continuously managed.

The Weichtalklamm contains some ladders and ascents secured with chains or wire ropes.You can spice up the ascent from Preiner Gscheid to Karl-Ludwig house with a small path (100m left of the track) - sure-footedness and a head for heights are required.

Always along well-signposted hiking trails (alternating).
The last 6km to Puchberg are deliberately pure forest roads to minimize the risk of falling in case of strong fatigue or falling darkness.

You can also easily get away from Puchberg by train (even if the tour unexpectedly takes longer than expected).
