Can be completed with a mountain bike in about 3 hours.
A nice idea that the Bayreuth nature enthusiasts had in the 1980s: They created a hiking route around Bayreuth that leads through the beautiful landscape surrounding our city while always remaining close to it. On it, the hiker can experience that they only need to go a few kilometers outside the city to be in nature; and it repeatedly offers a different view of “Bareith.”
Along its well over 47-kilometer course, one travels clockwise, for example, from Friedrichsthal via Höflas to Seulbitz, Neuenkirchen, Schlehenberg and Kamerun to Ottmannsreuth. From there under the A9 motorway to Rödensdorf and over the Bärenleite to Buchstein. Via Geigenreuth and the Matzenberg, it goes to Oberpreuschwitz, from there toUnterpreuschwitz and before Heinersreuth to Cottenbach and to Herrmannshof. Along the Hohe Warte you pass the Bindlacher forest pond and then to Cottenbach and Gemein to Bindlach, from there via Allersdorf on the edge of Oschenberg back to the starting point at Friedrichsthal.

Always keep your eyes open for the markings!
Since the markings are partly from the 1980s, faded orange dots (without black R) are also valid.
At the Sophieenberg motorway rest area, the footpath along the motorway was "bypassed" as it is impassable due to felled trees.
The original marking suffered from the motorway expansion here.Coordinates
