Oldest church in the Gräfenstein region with wonderful surroundings.

First parish church in Rodalben, built around 1360. The still preserved Romanesque tower and the vaulted choir, which is decorated with frescoes, bear witness to this. Later expanded in the Gothic style. It is often used as a location for weddings and is managed by the parish Maria Königin (Tel. 06331 - 16856, Mail: pfarramt.rodalben@bistum-speyer.de). The church is centrally located on the main street of the town of Rodalben, right next to the Marienbrücke in the old town.

Also worth seeing are the neighboring, old rectory with the one-world-shop and the rainbow fountain on Marienplatz with its stream and the sculpture of the "Grünesputschefrau". This is reminiscent of the time when Rodalber women offered their "Grünesputsche" (= soup green) for sale in the market in neighboring Pirmasens. At Marienplatz you can also relax and have a picnic on one of the benches or seating groups. Incidentally, there is also a free, public drinking fountain here.

Am Eingang der Marienkirche gibt es eine Stufe, die mittels der vorhandenen Rampe barrierefrei überwunden werden kann. Das Umfeld der Kirche mit dem kleinen Park und dem Regenbogenbrunnen ist ebenfalls barrierefrei erreichbar. Der Eine-Welt-Laden hingegen hat im Eingangsbereich eine Stufe, die ohne Rampe überwunden werden muss. Innen sind die Durchgänge auch relativ schmal (etwa 90 cm), was bei breiteren Rollstühlen zu Problemen führen kann. Der untere Marienplatz mit der Skulptur der "Grünesputschefrau" ist nur über eine Treppe oder mit dem Umweg über die Marienbrücke und die Kirch- und die Pfarrstraße barrierefrei zu erreichen. Aufgrund der geschilderten Umstände ist eine Begleitperson durchaus zu empfehlen. Parkplätze für Schwerbehinderte sind in unmittelbarer Nähe der Kirche in ausreichender Zahl vorhanden.
