Schneealpenhaus from Neuwald via Kleinbodengraben
Unfortunately, the route starts with a forest road trudge, but persistence is worth it! After about 30-45 minutes, a nice path branches off to the right and initially leads variably, easily, and gently through a light mixed forest. Soon you reach the tree line, and magnificent views open up in all directions to impressive rock formations: Donnerwand, Salzwänd, Große and Kleine Burgwand... After Melkboden, the ascent becomes significantly more alpine. You cross streams and debris flows. In the upper, partly very steep section of the path, surefootedness and a bit of a head for heights are required. Upon reaching the plateau, it becomes more relaxed again and you stroll almost flat over wide paths and meadows to the Schneealpenhaus.
