    Roadbook

Via the panoramic road of the Grimsel Pass, you reach the Oberaar reservoir. There is a paid parking lot where you can also park for several days. From here, our route begins along the right side of the Oberaarsee. Numerous stone plants line the path. The closer we get to the glacier, the rockier the path becomes.

After about 1.5 hours, we arrive at the glacier tongue of the Oberaargletscher. Here we put on our high alpine touring equipment and, roped together, steadily ascend towards the Oberaarjoch.

Upon reaching the Oberaarjoch, we lift our gaze and see the Oberaarjochhütte high up on the right. It hangs like an eagle’s nest on the rock face. A ladder and ropes make climbing up to the hut easier.
