Salzburg Lake District

Meadows, forests, and especially the eponymous lakes: In the Salzburg Lake District, you can enjoy pure nature. The region is located in the Flachgau in the northeast of the state of Salzburg. The largest lake is the Wallersee, followed by the Trumer Lakes. In the moor area of the region, there are also some small bodies of water. Especially in summer, visitors enjoy many opportunities for outdoor activities.

Outdoor activities in the Salzburger Seenland

A variety of activities on and around the lakes invite you to enjoy the water. With many well-maintained meadows and forests, you can embark on beautiful cycling and hiking tours. Along the 1200 km of bike paths or the stage tours Salz- and Seentour, Mozart bike trail, and Via Nova bike trail, all crossing the Salzburger Seenland, you can discover the beautiful landscape on two wheels. 

On foot, you are also well served with numerous hiking and Nordic walking tours to get to know the natural beauty and hospitality of the region and to let your soul unwind far from the stress. In summer, the locals commemorate the famous composer and son of the Seenland, Anton Diabelli, with the "Diabelli summer".

    Eine schöne Tour. Wir sind mit einem normalem Fahrrad gefahren, was bei einigen sehr steilen Anstiegen eine Herausforderung war – hoch schieben war anstrengend aber hat sich gelohnt. Fahrzeit circa 3 Stunden. Zum Abschluss ein Kaffee und Baden im kostenlosen Strandbad Seekirchen. Die beiden anderen Bäder kosten 5 bzw. 6 Euro!
