Die Ulsterquelle ist der Ursprung des wichtigsten Werrazuflusses aus dem Bereich der Rhön und befindet sich nahe am Roten Moor. Die Ulsterquelle, auch Goldquelle genannt, ist der Ursprung des wichtigsten Werrazuflusses aus dem Bereich der Rhön. Der Fluss entspringt ca. 818 m ü. NN zwischen dem Wasserkuppenmassiv und der Langen Rhön auf der Ostseite. In den Basaltdecken der Hohen Rhön versickern Niederschläge und werden über undurchlässige Schichten unter oder zwischen den klüftigen Basaltdecken gestaut und randlich zum Auslauf gezwungen. Die Basaltdecken bilden hier eine Grundwasserleiter, aus deren Grundwassersohle (= Grundwassertauer) das in den Basalten gespeicherte Grundwasser in der gefassten Ulsterquelle austritt. Sie befindet sich an den beiden Premiumwanderwegen "DER HOCHRHÖNER" und Extratour "Rotes Moor" an.

Hallo, Herr Landow. Der Ulstertalradweg ist etwa 57 km lang. Bei Outdooractive gibt es leider keine Tour dazu, aber im Radroutenplaner Thüringen ist er zu finden: https://radservice.radroutenplaner.thueringen.de/rrp/th/cgi?view=565124,5612872,571876,5631727&showThematicRoute=Ulstertalradweg
