Bad Mergentheim
Direkt gegelegen auf dem Hans-Heinrich-Ehrler-Platz.
Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde der Hans-Heinrich-Ehrler-Platz neu angelegt. Im Rahmen dieser Neugestaltung schuf der Bildhauer Franz Th. Pfeiffer aus Wertheim 1855 den Marienbrunnen, der das Zentrum des Platzes bildet. Bis 1779 befand sich an dieser Stelle ein offenes Wasserreservoir, die "Weth", die zur Brandbekämpfung diente und auch als Reinigungsbad für die Pferde genutzt wurde. An einem Schnappgalgen wurden dort unehrliche Handwerker zur Strafe ins Wasser getaucht.
