Walter Graser created the Fountain of Youth in the form of a wine glass from sandstone quarried in the region as a commission for the retirement home at the salt works. Both in the processing of the stone (a rough surface on one side and a smooth surface on the other) and in the design of the figures, he consistently pursued the dream of old people regaining their youth by bathing in a ‘fountain of youth’. The ten female figures are cast in bronze.
