Der Beginn der Besiedelung war mit der Entdeckung einer Heilquelle um die Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts verbunden. In den Jahren 1945-1946 wurden die deutschen Einwohner von hier ausgesiedelt und es ließen sich heimkehrende slowakische Emigranten aus Ungarn und Rumänien nieder. In den Jahren 1950-1957 lag diese Region im verbotenen Grenzgebiet. Das neue Aushängeschild der alten Ortschaft Hojná Voda / Heilwasser ist die Friedensglocke zur Erinnerung an diese Ereignisse.

In Hojná Voda / Heilwasser gibt es zwei Einkehrmöglichkeiten und eine Nächtigungsmöglichkeit, im Winter eine Langlaufloipe..

Außer der Glocke steht hier auch der Bildstock des hl. Johannes von Nepomuk, die der hl. Anna gewidmete Kirche wurde nach dem 2. Weltkrieg zerstört.
