Important stopping point in the past of Castelo de Vide for its location on the side of a busy road.

The Fonte Nova was a place of treat and rest for animals who once undertook the task of moving the cars and carts full of products and goods to the village. The fountain was built entirely in granite, plastered and whitewashed, in the mid-nineteenth century with a public washing tank on the back of its front. Two taps embedded in granite rosettes spround even today the so much sought water for its mineral properties, in fact, singular feature of the waters of this region.
