The Andreas Fountain was donated by the Jordan family in 1852. - It is inspired by Italian models of the Renaissance and is considered one of the most significant examples of Palatine iron casting. It is the centerpiece of the historic marketplace of Deidesheim.
The Andreas Fountain ("Andresebrunne")
The Andreas Fountain was donated in 1851 by the Jordan family (in memory of their father Andreas Jordan), along with the associated pipeline that brought water from the Michaelspring, which originates in the Sensetal, into the town.
The fountain, inspired by Italian Renaissance models, was supplied by the Gienanth foundry in Eisenberg. It is considered one of the most remarkable testimonies of Palatine cast iron work.
