Where its name comes from remains a mystery. Nevertheless, the Dackenheimers celebrate their Liebesbrunnenfest with their guests every year on the last weekend in July.
A note from an internet user: In 1604, the then parcel of land is mentioned in a record from the State Archives in Speyer as "at Lieberßborn." The Middle High German word burne, born denotes a small spring fountain. And the current name represents a reinterpretation of the old personal name Lieber, which is also historically documented for Dackenheim. Linguistic distortions and shifts, oral traditions, and transcription errors often led to such changes.
The origin of the name of the vineyard Liebesbrunnen is therefore by no means unclear; the source still exists today in the vineyard.
