Pomník vystavěný českými vlastenci uvozuje vstup na lázeňskou promenádu.

V roce 1867 přišel vysloužilý císařský královský nadporučík a velký vlastenec Jan Ripper s myšlenkou postavení důstojného českého pomníku s českým nápisem na Gräfenberku. Peníze na stavbu a vyhotovení pomníku se sháněly prostřednictvím dobrovolných sbírek, jichž se účastnili mnozí vlastenci.
